Group cycle training courses
Cyling can be a very sociable activity, so why not sign up for group cycle training - it is often more fun, and is less expensive than individual tuition! You could bring your friends, or enjoy meeting new people of similar ability on the day. Simply select the course that suits you best. All courses include basic advice on how to check and maintain your bike in a roadworthy condition. As well as the weekend dates listed we are scheduling some evening courses over the summer. Register your interest to find out more!

The course is a combined level one and two course. This means it will begin with the basic skills of cycling from looking and signalling to balancing and braking. It also covers some very basic bike safety checks. From there it will move on to level two, which aims to encourage and develop safe cycling skills; to develop positive attitudes towards road use; to increase knowledge and understanding of the road and traffic environment and to give trainees the confidence to use their bikes on local roads. Trainees will learn to deal with common manoeuvres and junctions.
The course takes place over two days, of four hours per day with a short lunch break in the middle.

Bikeability is the cycling proficiency for the 21st century. By 2012, half a million children are expected to have completed a course. We teach children the skills to travel safely and independently, and give them a simple way to increase their activity levels. The course provides parents with the reassurance that their child has received formal training before tackling today's roads on a bike.

Cycling is an ideal activity for a family to enjoy together. It is inexpensive, good for your health and great fun too. Discovering cycling as a healthy leisure activity can be liberating and life-changing. A cycle training course can also motivate family members to develop the habit of using a bicycle regularly to get around town. Using a bike as your main mode of transport when cycling short distances makes sense, but parents often feel ill-equipped to supervise their children on the road. This course will help you and your family to develop safe cycling skills; to develop positive attitudes towards road use; to increase knowledge and understanding of the road and traffic environment and to gain the confidence to use your cycles on local roads. Family cycle training improves the skills of both children and adults and demonstrates the best way to ride in a group, with particular emphasis on showing parents how to ride protectively. Each course will be designed with your specific needs in mind.

We are keen to help and have created a course specially designed to cater for this group.
