Families
Cycling is an ideal activity for a family to enjoy together. It is cost-effective, good for your health and great fun too. Using a bike as you main mode of transport when cycling short distances, such as the journey to school, makes sense, but parents often feel ill-equipped to supervise their children on the road. Family cycle training courses address this by improving the skills of both children and adults and demonstrating the best way to ride in a group, with particular emphasis on showing parents how to ride protectively. We also cater for children with learning and physical disabilities. Please contact us to discuss this.
Our family courses are designed to suit your particular needs, and we would usually cover the following:
- Training to at least Level 2 standard for adults
- Basic off-road control (Level 1) skills for children, moving on to on-road skills and an understanding of road safety
- Advice on how parents can best teach their children and how to deal with variation in the competency of family members
- Group cycling sessions and protective cycling for parents
